Last week S finally convinced me to dye my hair ombré! I've been coveting this hair color trend for some time, but was hesitant to let go of my more conservative dark brown hue. Thanks to our amazing friend Koral at the Bailey Hughes Salon I finally took the leap, and I couldn't be happier! Rich dark brown shades look best on me, and though I typically go even slightly darker for fall, I was ready for a change. Ombré is the perfect compromise! The caramel brown ends are blended perfectly into the more natural dark upper half, giving me a little edge while staying true to my brunette roots! :D

Patriotically Poised

We were feeling particularly patriotic for last night's debate, so naturally we went out and bought some baloons :) Lucky for us red, white, and blue are colors that abound in our closets, so putting together this post was near effortless. That said, while we're often light-hearted and easy going fashionistas, we wanted to use this opportunity to remind our fellow Glitteraries of your privilege and right to VOTE this election season!!! Truth is, we don't even care which presidential candidate you side with, but we urge you to be politically aware and practice your American right to mark that ballot on November 7th, 2012!! In the words of Oscar Wilde "You can never be overdressed or overeducated", so engage that political conversation in Glitterary poise.

We're seeing dots decorate this season from tights to nails, shoes, and coats. You just can't escape this simple, adorable, and ever so feminine print. But what could be better than dots? Oxblood dot prints! We're obsessing over this deep red hue for fall. Can you blame us? It can be edgy, sweet, and sophisticated all at once, and really, the only thing better than that is a glass of champagne. In today's post we feature these two trends styled to our personalities for two truly chic everyday looks.

Just in case you hadn't noticed, D owns a whole lot of pink! Her oxblood and hot pink dotted scarf is the perfect way to incorporate two of this season's hottest trends into her already feminine and preppy wardrobe, her go-to herringbone blazer casually dressing her down for a day to night masterpiece.

She's beautiful, brilliant, and unbelievably sweet- Rachel Roy has left us star struck for weeks! While visiting the beautiful port city of Seattle we had the privilege of meeting Rachel and her staff, thanks to our amazing friends at Nordstrom, and after visiting with her and discussing fall fashion trends, we can honestly say that she is more beautiful and sweet than we could ever imagine! Sporting her own LBD with plum cardigan, Rachel was flawless and sophisticated, and frankly we expected nothing less from this fashion royalty. So in keeping our promise, here you have it, fall fashion trends and advice you just can’t ignore from the one and only Rachel Roy.

Fall Must Have Color: Oxblood, we can't adequately emphasize just how much these burgundy hues are trending for fall!
Menswear Inspirations: Rachel loves menswear inspired pieces, with one condition- they must fit perfectly. Tailoring is the key to giving these boyish pieces some feminine flare. Glitterary favorite: wide leg trousers ;)
