Last Thursday was the much anticipated launch of Atelier AZZA'sSS 2014 Collection, Algebra. Hosted by Atelier AZZA & Refinery29 this fete was destined to be a success, aptly titled "Infinite Summer". The venue was Prairie Productions, a crisp white loft space in the West Loop, music was provided by DJ Matt Roan, and bites were prepared by Boutique Bites. The SS2014 collection was breathtaking- not to be unexpected. However, what did surprise was Khan's more casual pieces in this collection that proved to be major crowd pleasers! Not to be reduced in quality or attention to detail, we believe this aspect of Khan's SS2014 collection has opened her up to a whole new market for everyday wear.

The gown were as always covetously stunning! And those back designs!!! There are few things we love more than AZZA's low back dresses, but we'll stop talking and let you see for yourself....

Fashion Outlets of Chicago - Part 1

If you follow us on Instagram or Twitter, last week you heard us chatting Fashion Outlets of Chicago; what you didn't hear was our silence at first sight.  Speech-less! While the outlets open for the first time this Thursday, August 1st, this is a project we've been tracking for months, because when conversation suggests the best outlets in the US are moving in next door, glitteraries shut-up and listen.

If you're new to the discussion let's just say, this mall is unlike any other. We're talking major luxury brands we've never seen on sale... Ok, maybe that's an overstatement, but not far from true. All Saints, ToryBurch, Burberry, Halston, Vince, Andrew Marc, and Prada are just a few of the designer that will soon be opening their doors to Chicago fashionistas. Not to mention department stores such as Bloomindales, Neimen Marcus, Saks 5th Ave, and – wait for it– Barneys New York!

Unique to this outlet endeavor, the Fashion Outlets of Chicago will be amply decorated with interactive modern art.

In an effort to bring art outside museum walls and into public spaces, for weeks, nationally and internationally recognized contemporary artists have been installing their work in entryways, around escalators, and even from ceilings. Designed for natural light to illuminate these artists' work, the mall showcases a modern glass ceiling. This modern gallery of vibrant artwork, is a project of The Arts Initiative to enrich and eliven the outlet space while fusing fashion and art in a new and innovative manner. Music to a glitterary's ears! The whole mall is a masterpiece, and as far as malls go, it's not that large, which we appreciate– quality over quantity! ;)

But that's not all, with it's prime Rosemont location, soon Chicago travelers will be able to check their bags and print boarding passes right from the concierg's desk! This service will be provided by TSA certified BAGS Inc., so that shoppers can head straight from the checkout lines to their boarding lines. No one has permission to complain about a chicago layover ever again!

Tonight we head to the pre-opening gala, so be sure to follow us on Insta and Twitter, because you can bet we'll be "Ooo-ing" and "Awe-ing" all over again! As for now, here's a behind the scenes sneak peek at some serious magic in the making– get excited!

Recap

We have to admit, we've come to acquire a certain feeling of obligation towards you. An obligation to be there when expected as well as an obligation to explain ourselves when absent. With that in mind, we know this event coverage is long overdue, but we've been busy hiking, whitewater rafting, fishing, and standing beside our girlfriends as they tie the knot to their very own Mr. Perfect.  (For some non-Glitterary fun you can follow our Alaskan adventures here and here on our personal Instagrams.) We know it's no honorable excuse, many of you bloggers keep up with your work while on vacation, having babies, and more, but if we're perfectly honest we're still trying to figure out this whole work/blog/personal life balance. So, that's the skinny. Nothing fancy, just an honest explanation we hope you'll understand as we try to get into our routines.

Now, without further ado, we're excited to share with you a little fashion show we attended prior to our travel madness. You see, the week prior to getting our outdoor fix, we were busy getting our geeky on at TechWeek Chi. This event was the closing ceremony of a week full of learning, networking, and partying, because if there's one thing we learned loud and clear, it's that Chicago's entrepreneurs know how to work hard and party harder.

Styled by Lily of AdoptedStyle and hosted by Glossed & Found, FORD Chicago models strutted their stuff on the catwalk in the season's hottest beach themed trends. I believe our first tweet to follow was "Lily, where can we find all of this?! #MustHave" or something to that nature. Major shopping urge enticed- the show was effective ;)

Hello again! Sorry we've been MIA, we hadn't planned on it, but as you know life happened... Christmas happened... and well, Alaska happened (get ready for some winter wonderland style shoots!). All that to say, last week we had the privilege of teaming up with Circular Boutique and TessieStyle Consulting Services for an evening of cupcakes, champagne, and, of course, some pre-holiday shopping! Prior to the event we'd gone through Kim's beautiful shop and selected our favorite items to help shoppers style their way through the holidays.
