Style

All Work No Play... Jk ;)

Who says workwear can't be fun? If there's one thing we don't do here at Glitterary, it's take ourselves too seriously. This season we're loving black and white, especially for work appropriate styles! Today, Steph's paired a boxy chiffon top with some classic black skinnies for a light and summer-ready look. Add a statement necklace and gold accented heels for a fun and trendy flare that's totes profesh! (yes, that's a real word just ask @rushbomb ;)

Most importantly for workwear, choose styles that make you feel comfortable and confident! Nothing's more important that feeling the part and making others feel that you own the part! If you're not crazy about your current job, dress for the dream job! We promise it'll make your work day that much better ;)

Happy Thursday!

Summer Essentials: The Little Things

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6

Alright ladies, summer is here and we are celebrating in style! As the temperatures rise there are a few items that we'll be reaching for over and over again–our summer essentials. 1. Metallic Sandals. These beauties go with anything from cut-offshorts to a flowy maxi dress. 2. Reflective sunglasses. While sunglasses are important on their own, these reflective lenses add a little extra mystery and sass. We're a little addicted. (Check out S wearing her pair here!) 3. Considering the amount of time we spend on out phones each day, we owe it to ourselves to look good while doing it. Jazz up your phone with a fun case like this one from Kate Spade. 4. If you haven't noticed yet we're on a metallic kick. It's an easy and unexpected way to dress up an outfit and go with almost anything! These silver pumps add a little bit of edge to any look. 5. Panama Hat. This classic style is a summer must-have! It goes with anything, taking you from a the farmers market to the beach without breaking a sweat. 6. Coral lipstick. We love a good lipstick no matter what season and are crushing on bright coral hues for summer, like 'Rouge Volupté' Lipstick in Extreme Coral.

Roaring 20's: Gatsby Inspired

Last night D got the chance to attend a pre-screening of The Great Gatsby–lucky girl! The attire for the event was appropriately Gatsby inspired. The 1920's are known for glitz and decadence, and has us longing for elaborate frocks like those donned as Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan. Despite all of the roaring 20's inspiration, themed events can sometimes be challenging to style. You can have the vision of a perfect outfit but finding the look can be both time consuming and a bit disheartening when that perfect piece is hard to find. Pick two to three characteristics and keep them in mind while putting together your look–D chose pleats, layered jewels, and a bold lip.

She ended up opting for a flowy crimson pleated dress and layered on the pearls in a soft rose hue. She paired it with these suede DV sandals with bold  black leather and gold studded accents
