Let's just say, I don't like choosing between one option or another– I very much like having my cake and eating it too...

That being said, I've never cared much for abiding to fashion rules. For starters, I've always loved mixing black & brown & any chance I can mix silver with gold is a double win!

Trust me, I know it's unconventional and contradicts all the style etiquette mom tried to pass down, but if there's ever been a place to break the rules, I'd say it's here & now!...

Love you mom :)

I'll be honest, posts have been scarce as of late, and there are a variety of reasons for that, but I'm also having a bit of an internal struggle...

Let's be clear, this is not a pity party, and moving isn't all that difficult, but it's certainly a curveball.

I am now in a new region of the country, settling into a new home, and attempting to develop a new sense of community, but as it applies to you, I am also trying to decide how to continue with the content on this site.

Truth is, Glitterary was never intended to be a personal blog, in fact, the original style sheet stated Glitterary be referred to in the third person, as it's own entity. I still have no intention of making this site into a personal blog, but as the brand developed I realized that you wanted to know more about me– not just what I wore, but you wanted to see more of my two pups, the activities I engaged in, and life at home with the hubs.

Initially, I started introducing more of these details through social media, and you really seemed to engage best with this new content. I adapted and continued the effort of being a bit more personal with you...

Here's the problem: while I'm extremely social, I'm a relatively private person, and I'm wise enough to know that the internet is no safe place to vent or write a diary.

Not only are there concerns of perception, but also security concerns not only for myself, but for those with whom I do life and share comments about online. I'm not paranoid, but after working in the digital sphere for years, I'm certainly not naive, and a personal blog has never been of interest.

Needless to say, I feel a little stuck.

While learning to navigate fashion blogging from a state that only seems to experience two seasons (cool & hot versions of summer), I'm also trying to decide how much of my personal life to include in the process.

I don't have an answer yet. I actually have no clue which direction I'll choose to take the voice of Glitterary, but while posts for now are a bit scattered, Glitterary itself isn't going anywhere, so bear with me. In the mean time, keep up on Instagram– that app never gets s rest on my phone ;)

Every October beauty and fashion labels alike, join forces to draw awareness to a problem threatening women around the globe. Needless to say, in October we wear pink & we wear it proud!

Now, don't hate me for pointing this out, but more often than not I find "think pink" product a little dull– definitely pink, but not entirely on trend. Bear with me, if this wasn't a fashion blog, this wouldn't matter one bit, but I feel a sense of obligation to only point you toward product I myself would purchase (plus, you can always go online and make a donation directly to the charity of your choice, so shopping pink isn't your only means for helping out).

That being said, this month I kept an eye out for clever product & fresh ideas that would allow me to give back & enjoy my purchases! It being the last week of October, this is your final chance to hop in on some of these limited edition products, and you can shop them directly through the links below.

But that's not all, I also found an incredibly practical way to support the charity of your choice year round...

Perhaps you've already hear of Amazon Smile, but I only recently discovered it & am highly impressed! Amazon Smile is perhaps the most practical way to provide the charity of your choice with year-round support, and all you have to do is keep shopping as normal. To set this up, simply visit http://smile.amazon.com and select your charity, then bookmark the site for convenience.

From this point on, every time you make a purchase through the "smile" side of amazon.com, Amazon will send a portion of that purchase to your designated charity. This shopping option simply makes sense, and there's really no reason not to use it.

Personally, my account is set to support Bright Pink, the only national non-profit focused on the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women, while providing support for high-risk individuals, and while I highly recommend them, you are welcome to choose outside of the October theme.

In addition to the items bellow, other brands providing October unique collections/promos include Emi-Jay, Paul Mitchell, Hanky Panky, Bloomingdales, and Fabletics.

Happy Shopping!

Like a Girl

Top | Jeans | Bag (ON SALE!) | Cuff  c/o | Necklace - similar | Shoes - Similar | Bralet

Happy Tuesday! Can I just say, I hope boot legs are back, because I'm loving every piece in this look!...

As you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. While this post is not specifically tailored towards that theme I did incorporate a cuff by Accessory Concierge's new charity collection that I'm currently obsessed with.

Appropriately, the cuff reads "Fight Like a Girl", which I thought paired perfectly with the badass vibe of this rocker inspired look.

Other than the fact that 20% of proceeds go directly to the Breast Cancer Awareness Fund, what I love about this cuff is that it pairs with anything and everything in my closet.... aka. not just pink and not just for October.

If you're looking for clever ways to support Breast Cancer Awareness, I'm currently crafting a detailed list of shopping destinations for you, so stay tuned. That said, what better way to kick us off than a clever play on words to support the brave and badass women fighting this disease!
